How to start a photo book when your camera roll is chaos.

The most common thing people say to me is some version of: "I really need to get my photos off my phone. I just don't know where to start." Your camera roll is full, the years are stacking up, and the whole thing feels overwhelming. I get it! So here's how I approach it and get my photos printed in one swoop.

Step 1 - Open your camera roll and go to January

Pick a year. Any year. Head to January and start scrolling. 

As you scroll, tap the heart on anything you might want to keep. Don't overthink it. If you hesitate, it's probably a no. If there are two nearly identical shots and you can't decide, pick one and move on. It's a little trip down memory lane, which is genuinely fun. Our Yearbook holds 160 images, so ideally cap it at 160 photos. If you have more than 160 images you want to print for the year, start a second folder (step 2 - folders).

Step 2 - Move them into a folder

Once you've gone through the year, drop everything favourited into its own folder so it's all in one place. Name it something simple. SMITHS 2025. EUROPE TRIP. FIRST YEAR. Whatever makes sense to you. That's the curation done. Remember 160 images per Yearbook.

Step 3 -  This is where it moves fast.

Jump onto DOSSI Press and upload the folder directly. Then tap AUTO FILL BOOK.

The book builds itself. Pages, layouts, spacing. Done.

I might go back in and tweak a few things, shuffle an image, add a line of text. But most of the time I leave it. Because it's in sequence, it's classic, it's timeless, and it's done.
